TAS UPDATE

From Bez Erfan

Welcome to the Spring edition of NEOS Connect.

It’s hard to believe it’s already spring. With the days getting longer, warmer weather on the way and the footy finals approaching, it’s a great time of year.

Since our last update, there has been plenty happening at NEOS. Over recent months, we’ve continued to focus on making it easier for you and your team to do business with NEOS, while investing in the tools, technology and service enhancements that matter most to advisers.

In this edition, you’ll find updates on Marloo pricing integration, recent Futura Protection pricing changes, underwriting enhancements and the latest improvements to Quote and Apply.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We appreciate the important work you do everyday to help clients achieve better outcomes.

As always, Aash and I are here to help and look forward to working with you over the coming months.

NEOS and Marloo have partnered to launch pricing MCP

In case you missed it, NEOS and adviser productivity platform, Marloo have partnered to launch the first pricing MCP in the market giving advisers access to pricing across the three products on the NEOS Platform directly within Marloo.

This means advisers using Marloo can now access indicative pricing and projections for NEOS Protection, Encompass Protection and Futura Protection as part of their existing advice workflows effortlessly and helping them deliver more informed client conversations. The integration has been designed to support advisers by providing quick access to insurance quotes and product insights during the financial advice process.

This reflects a shared commitment to improving adviser productivity through practical applications of artificial intelligence and making life insurance easy through modern technology.

If you’d like to learn more about how this integration works, you can join the upcoming webinar hosted by Marloo on 21 September.

Futura Protection improves packaged cover pricing

From 1 September 2026, we updated new business premiums for Futura Protection.

While premium changes vary depending on your client’s age and selected covers, many clients aged 50 and over applying for packaged cover are expected to benefit from lower premiums. Futura Protection continues to offer competitive value across other client segments.

Quotes and applications
Updated premiums automatically apply to new Futura Protection quotes created from 1 September 2026.

Existing quotes created before 1 September 2026, including those generated via a NEOS premium comparison, are not impacted, and may be submitted as usual.

Don’t forget that your clients can now securely complete most of their application directly online, at a time and place that suits them. Simply click ‘assign to client’ in the application, or contact your NEOS sales representative for more information.

If you’d like to better understand how these changes may benefit your clients and the Futura Protection product more generally, Luke Ronan will be hosting a webinar on 16 September 2026.

We’ve delivered faster, simpler underwriting through a series of enhancements

Breast Lumps

  • STA increase from 51% to 70%.
  • Significant reduction in underwriting requirements.

Iron Deficiency Anaemia

  • Simplified assessment approach.
  • Reduced evidence requirements.
  • Simplified assessment approach reflecting that historically more than 92% of referred cases were ultimately accepted at standard rates.

Bowel Polyps

  • Standard acceptances increased by 37%.
  • Only around 13% of cases now require further underwriting review.

Diabetes (Type 2)

  • 33% increase in STA for Life Cover.
  • 45% reduction in medical reports where pathology can be utilised instead.

Weight Loss Medication (Ozempic, Wegovy etc)

  • 90% increase in STA rate.
  • 90% increase in OneTouch rate for the remainder which refer to UW.
  • Overall doctors reports rate reduced to virtually nil for weight loss treatment.

If you have any questions or if you’d like to discuss how these changes could help with a current client case, please speak to your BDM.

Quote and Apply enhancements are live on the NEOS Platform

We hope you’re enjoying our new quote and apply experience on the NEOS Platform, launched last month.

If you’re unfamiliar with the changes or would like a quick refresher, you can watch a preview here.

Reduce your cycle times and get your clients covered quicker

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to try our new assign to client application feature, which allows clients to complete their underwriting questions online.

Since launching the feature, we’ve observed that:

  • Applications assigned to clients are submitted, on average, three times faster than applications completed through our tele-interview service.
  • Clients typically return completed applications to their adviser within two days.
  • One-third of applications completed and returned by clients online are submitted outside standard business hours.

The application is mobile-friendly, allowing your clients to complete their application whenever and wherever it suits them. Faster application completion helps your clients secure cover sooner, while reducing your cycle times so you can get paid sooner.

Don’t forget to submit Archive Portal applications before 8 October 2026

The Federal Government’s genetic testing reforms take effect on 8 October 2026. From that date, insurers can no longer ask applicants about genetic tests or use genetic test information when assessing life insurance applications.

As a result, genetic test questions will be removed for all new NEOS Protection, Encompass Protection and Futura Protection applications created from 14 August 2026 and no genetic test information will be used in the assessment of these applications.

What do I need to do?
If you have any quotes or applications in progress in the Archived Portal on the NEOS Platform, these include genetic test questions and must be submitted or booked for a tele-interview before 8 October 2026.

Any quotes or applications in progress in the Archived Portal which are not submitted to us or booked for a tele-interview will expire on 8 October 2026.

Quotes and applications created and visible on the new NEOS Platform will not expire on 8 October 2026.

What happens from 8 October?
For applications created before 14 August 2026 which have not expired:

  • The genetic test question will not be asked during a tele-interview or in any applications created on the new NEOS Platform.
  • The unanswered question asking if the applicant has ever had a genetic test will be automatically recorded as “No” in the Application Summary.
  • An explanatory note will be included in the Application Summary confirming that genetic test information was not requested or used in assessing the application.
  • Where an underwriting decision has not yet been made, underwriters will ignore any genetic test information provided before 8 October 2026.
